Caracas (Spanish: Caracas) is the capital of Venezuela. The city, together with the territory adjacent to it, is allocated to the federal metropolitan area, whose area is 1900 km². The capital of Venezuela is located in the picturesque mountain valley of the Caribbean Andes, at an altitude of 900-1000 m above sea level. The city is removed from the Caribbean coast (the Atlantic Ocean basin) by an average of 13-14 km.
