Jamaica is an island nation in North America, located on the island of Jamaica and adjacent small islands in the Caribbean Sea.

Information about visa

Citizens of Ukraine and the CIS countries do not need to apply for a visa to travel to Jamaica in advance if the period of stay on the island does not exceed 30 days, and the purpose of the visit is tourism or transit to a third country. The visa is issued upon arrival in the country at the offices of the Department of Immigration of Jamaica.

To apply for a visa, you must provide the following documents to the Immigration Office:
- foreign passport, which must be valid at the end of the stay in the country;
- return tickets or tickets to the final destination (in case of transit);
- confirmation of hotel reservation (original, fax or printout from the Internet) or travel agency voucher, or confirmation of sufficient funds for the trip (cash, bank statement, etc.) at the rate of 50 US dollars per person per day;
- visa to the country of final passage, if necessary (in case of transit).

A visa fee of USD 25 is charged for a visa. Payment is made in cash in dollars or other currency at the rate on the day of payment.


Tropical. On the coast the air temperature is 24C - 35C; in mountainous areas it is cooler, from 15C to 27C. From May to October the greatest amount of precipitation falls.

The US dollar is also circulating in Jamaica. Many travel centers and shops accept traveler's checks (they are also recommended to buy in US currency) or credit cards from the world's leading systems: Visa, American Express and some others.
