Common description
Anguilla is a former British colony. The main island and a number of uninhabited coral reefs make up the country's territory. The name of the island comes from the Spanish word anguileea - which means eel in translation. The beaches of Anguilla have snow-white coral sand. The surrounding reefs are good for diving.
